About Martéz

Martéz has a broad knowledge of the film industry, having worked both in front of and behind the camera in various capacities, for over three decades.

She wrote, directed, and produced a documentary on the late DR Marius Barnard, as well as an introductory segment for The Heart of Cape Town Museum, further exploring the impact DR Marius Barnard made within the medical field. She produced promotional footage for Choices (an anti-abuse campaign), the Three Sisters Charity project, interview segments and promotional footage for The Codename feature film.

Her promotional teaser titled Dancing with Faith, being made into The Choice film, garnered an Award of Recognition at the LA-based Best Shorts festival in 2017.

Martéz went on to produce and direct Imagine, a fashion film, achieving 7 wins and 4 honorable mentions on the short film festival circuit.

Following the success of Imagine, Martéz wrote and produced Love Affair, another fashion film, that made Official Selection at the Bokeh South African International Fashion Film Festival and was the opening film at the Awards Evening. Love Affair made Official Selection at the New York Film Awards and went on to win Best Song at Top Shorts.

In 2021, Martéz stepped out of her comfort zone as director for the filmed “Jerusalem Woven Destiny Concert” with musicians such as ZAMAR, Choni G, Lyudamila, and more. The recording was broadcast to an online audience of 20 000. The recording was later aired on Revelation TV in February 2022.
